Things to see and do in Goirle and Tilburg - Listed by Maddy from Stella Suites!

With our blog series 'Listed by the owners', we ask each owner of an accommodation to give some personal tips and observations about the city, the village or the surroundings of the accommodation. Places that inspire, the real must do's, must sees in the neighbourhood, so 'listed' by the owners. In this blog Maddy from Stella Suites to speak.

Best place to stay?
I find our suites of Stella Suites Surely the masterpieces of the hotel. All top of the bill finishes, lovely beds and decorated with many accessories. So you keep looking. Apart from one of the 8 suites, our courtyard garden is also a favourite, a small piece of Italy/France in Goirle 😉 .

What makes the place where you are staying so special?

The building in which Stella Suites is located dates from 1902. It is a famous building in Goirle and it stands out because of its Jugendstil style and its white colour. We are less than 5 minutes' walk from a beautiful nature reserve, 10 minutes from the creative, burgundian city of Tilburg and we are in the lovely village of Goirle, so there is something for everyone.
If you could describe your stay with one word, which word would it be?
Two then: Cosy luxury.

Where should you really go when you visit, and what should you really do? In short: the must do & sees.

What is the most beautiful church?
The Church of Biest-houtakker because there is a large brocante shop in the church, all shop-in-shops, great!

What makes life in your town/village so beautiful?
Goirle is a lovely picturesque village, with a butcher, a baker's shop, really village-like, but on the outskirts of Tilburg, so you can be in a big city in no time (10 minutes by car). And we are right next to a large, beautiful nature reserve. That makes staying in Goirle very pleasant.

The finest terrace? Why?
The terrace of Cafe Flanders in Goirle and our own terrace of course. A beautiful courtyard garden.

The nicest / most beautiful / most special street? Why?
The Kloosterstraat, where Stella Suites is located 😉 😉 The hotel is located at the end of the street.

When you go out for an afternoon outside your town/village, where do you go? Why?
Breakfast at Stella Suites, on to Van Beurden for a massage or a wonderful beauty treatment. By bicycle to Tilburg, where you can sail on the luxury sloop of Villa Rectory With Michel as guide. Lunch and bubbles on the boat. Small shopping tour in Tilburg (Stuen, Jimmy's, Tien, Mint & PeprSissy-Boy, Zara, H&M Home) and then enjoy a delicious dinner in your new outfit at Restaurant Barabas in Poppel.
