Bergen, an old artists' village near the sea, in the middle of a wooded area. The centre is well-organised, the boutiques are original and the range of restaurants is good. Bergen may call itself a 'Heerlijkheid', a title that is justified in many ways. The artists' village owes its reputation to the Bergen School, among other things, and has been an important source of inspiration for painters, writers, poets and composers for over a century. Art and culture are still a major attraction, thanks to the museums and galleries present. Discovering Bergen in one day is really too short. So stay the night. At Listed you can choose between your own flat in an amazing stately villa or a luxurious room in a charming small Boutique Hotel.
Forever a holiday feeling, in the heart of Bergen"., sleep and enjoy in Magnolia Spring

The door of the villa opens and we are welcomed with a smile by Isi and Morien, the proud owners of Magnolia Spring. Wow! "Immersing in luxury with a feeling of home".this feeling prevails at Villa Kranenbergh.
Hotel manager Emma Teunissen gives us a very warm welcome and we walk with her into the lounge. Lovely! Cosy armchairs, soft couches and a fireplace that burns deliciously. Villa Kranenbergh is a stay on its own, a Boutique hotel, but even more a "Villa" as they say themselves. Small-scale, luxurious and contemporary. Located in a beautiful, quiet spot just outside the centre and yet only a few minutes' walk from the bustling village centre. The perfect location for a short or longer stay: as a couple, with the whole family and even with a family or group of friends of up to 16 persons.
The eight rooms in natural tones immediately give you a feeling of coming home. There are short routes of just a few kilometres, but also longer ones that take several hours. The signposting is good and clear. You will also find dozens of kilometres of cycling paths. Comfortable routes, but also here and there a steep climb or descent through the open dunes or the wavy woods. Motorised traffic is not allowed in the dune area, but electrically driven bicycles with pedal assistance are allowed. BonBon Bike in Bergen rents out all kinds of bicycles. Whether you want to cycle actively by yourself or with an extra push from some electric assistance.
Really walk in at La Vie Locale. Here, they bring a little bit of France to the heart of Mons with their delicious products. You immediately imagine yourself in a boulangerie and you really can't walk out of the door empty-handed. They sell 100% organic products. Every day, crackling fresh croissants, breads and baguettes are available. And be sure to try one of the cakes.
L'Etoile Store. What a lovely shop. Elise says she wants to sell little moments of happiness. And that is true! A store full of pure products made with respect for craftsmanship. Delicious soaps, hamam cloths, stamps, ceramics and much more. The products they sell are refined, sober, minimalist and pure and made from natural materials such as linen, wool and ceramics.
Interested in art and culture? Then be sure to visit Museum Kranenburgh. A beautiful contemporary museum, with pieces from Bergen artists and beyond. Guests of Villa Kranenbergh get a free ticket to visit. Highly recommended!
Lady Papa. Restaurant with botanical and Asian influences. The style can be described as a combination of art deco, Hollywood Regency, botanical and here and there a little bit of modern classical. And with a delicious "urban kitchen" menu. The graffiti walls are painted by graffiti artists from Amsterdam. The menu is "feminine" with both vegan and vegetarian dishes, as well as meat and fish dishes with an Asian twist, in which the Ottolenghi style is also implemented here and there. There is also a sushi bar and a cocktail station where, among other things, the Papa Martini is made.
Fancy a smoothie, lunch or a nice cup of coffee? Then drop in at REAL in Bergen. Everything you eat or drink at ECHT is thought up, selected and prepared with care. Good tastes and conscious choices, often healthy, sometimes sugar-free and sometimes not at all. As long as it is real. They prefer to make everything themselves and source the good ingredients locally. And is there food left over? Then they think up something off the menu or eat it themselves at home. This is how they like to contribute to a beautiful world.
Three kilometres from Bergen is the coastal village of Bergen aan Zee. Here you can enjoy the sun, sea and beach all day long. In Bergen aan Zee? Then to Noorderlicht, Hemmingway or the Boys of Bergen.
The cheese market or the old town of Alkmaar are only a few kilometres away, and Amsterdam can be reached quickly by car or public transport. The same applies to the historical Zuiderzee towns of Hoorn and Enkhuizen on the IJsselmeer.
